Gorgeous composition with the lavender in the background.
Thank you Sharyn, the Lavender is on it’s last burst but there are still plenty of nasturtiums, cosmos and of course squash flowers !!
such a simple pretty dahlia, floating over the lavender background, looks divine š
It seem to be floating doesn’t it! Thank you
Lovely!
Thank you Amy
Hi Claire .. what a very calming photo this is ..lovely and gentle flowers ..
Thank you, the lemon-yellow isn’t big and bright, kind of mellow-yellow š
Dahlias have to be one of my favorite flowers and I can’t way until mine open. It won’t be long!
Thank you, I do like the single ones, and so many colours to choose from. Looking forward to maybe seeing some of your dahlias on your blog soon !
So pretty! We have had such a hot hot summer, that my flowers are struggling. I love dahlias … yours looks so pretty with the purple behind it!
What a shame the flowers are struggling in the heat, let’s hope they will perk up as September comes around š
Really nice, Claire. I’ll be heading to bed shortly and it will be image to take with me.
Sweet dreams John !
oops, and thank you š
Nice. I really prefer single flowers on dahlias and that’s such a good clear yellow.
You know I’d forgotten that I had dahlias on the plot last year, and yes the yellow is very light and gentle, thanks
Beautiful photo my friend š
Cheers

Lovely pretty lemon colour. I like the single flowered ones just as much as the frilly ones. Do you have to lift them in autumn?
Cathy this will make you laugh, but it’s survived all winter, out in the open and come back for us! I’ve never tried lifting or saving dahlias, I usually pick some up early Spring for the garden but didn’t get round to it. So a true happy accident š
What a lovely surprise then! š
Now for me, that photo is what summer is all about, Claire! Lovely.
Thanks Misky -it was an unplanned bonus š
It is the simple surprises and pleasures that put a big smile on one’s face š thank you Claire for sharing this beauty
Absolutely Sawsan !
Don’t you love it when surprise shoots turn out to be flowers instead of weeds?
Great photo…
I knew you would get that point without me saying the W word š
What a sweet little flower! I love the color.
Thanks Kate, it’s a delicate yellow isn’t it
she’s a beauty.
thank you Joss

Gorgeous.. I went to the lavender farm here and took photos of their dahlias.. they have to be the most perfect of blooms I think!
I’d love to visit a lavender farm, there are some in the neighbouring county but I neve rseem to get round to going. I’m sure your photos are fabulous!
