“It’s the great pumpkin”~ Charlie Brown
I think this Australian Butter is a real beauty and I can’t stop taking photos of it!
It had to be picked early as the stem got broken, but it’s still a “beaut”. Out of curiosity I tried to weigh it, well it’s at least 4lb but more like 5lb (the kitchen scales aren’t big enough!). I’ll need to figure out a great way of cooking it, maybe a few slices roasted with some olive oil and rosemary and the rest made into a dish to share with friends. But for now I’ll just sit back and admire it!
I’ve just started to harvest the rest of the winter squash, and no doubt there will be more photos and recipes in the coming months, but I wonder if they will be as photogenic?
It’s always nice to find someone who feels like I do about pumpkins. So glad to come across your blog. Thanks for “liking” my post.
I think I’ll follow your blog. I need gardening encouragement!
Thanks Marie, I need all the encouragement I can get. Growing pumpkins here is always a bit hit and miss as we have such short summers, but they are things of beauty and worth the effort!
I just realised I typed your name wrong. I AM SO SORRY !
Where’s the embarassed emoticon when you need it !
It’s also a timely reminder to get my eyes re-tested….
Love your series of pumpkin photos!
Thanks! They are great fun to grow
