I’m a member of a book group. A few friends gather once a month to talk about the book that we chose the previous month. As we are a mixture of workers, non-workers, parents etc, it varies as to whether or not we’ve managed to read the book or not. We also seem to differ on our choices and preferences – and in my opinion that make’s it perfect
Anyway this month’s offerings are
Haruki Murakami After Dark – I’ve read a few Murakami’s and have been stunned by them. His ability to portray and capture a moment delight me. I picked this one up in a 2nd hand bookshop in India, it’s set over 24 hours and centres on Mari, and as the tale progresses you are taken into several other worlds.
and
Kurt Vonnegut – Slaughterhouse 5 – a book that I’ve been meaning to get round to reading for years!
